Tinubu: Angry Nigerians Takes The Streets, Demand Tinubu’s Arrest (Photos)

Image
Some angry Nigerians have taken to the streets in Abuja to protest over two bullion vans spotted at Bola Tinubu residence in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city. AMP recalls that an image of two bullion vans heading into Tinubu’s Bourdillon residence surfaced online prior to the 2019 general elections. Tinubu’s Bourdillon residence is in Ikoyi, Lagos state. Reacting to the development at the time, Tinubu, who is the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, had said he was neither a government contractor nor a worker with any government parastatal and that there was no iota of truth in the allegation that he had bullion vans in his house distributing money. Tinubu had said: “I am not a government contractor, and I don’t have bullion vans because I don’t store ballot papers. If I may ask, where am I voting now? This is not my house. I don’t work with any government agencies and let anybody come out to say that I have taken contracts from the governme...

Nigerian Students Won't Write 2020 WAEC - FG

Image
The Federal Ministry of Education has said Nigerian secondary final year students will not be participating in the upcoming West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations. The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who disclosed this to State House Correspondents on Wednesday after the seventh weekly virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, also said there is no date for resumption of schools in the country yet. He said he would prefer that Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to dangers, appealing to state governments that had announced reopening of schools to reconsider their decision for the sake of the students’ safety. Speaking on the effect the decision to keep schools closed could have on final year secondary school students, due to write the WAEC, Adamu said Nigeria would not open the schools yet, not even for the WAEC, which is a regionally control programme. He, however debunked an earlier report, which claimed that the Minister of Sta...

It marked the event with a large-scale firing drill, South Korea said. Tensions have risen in the area in recent weeks, with the US and North Korea exchanging heated rhetoric. Experts fear Pyongyang could be planning more tests - it has marked some key anniversaries in the past with nuclear tests or missile launches. However, South Korea's defence ministry said "no unusual development had been detected". Instead, the North conducted a large live-fire drill around the city of Wonsan, South Korea said. Image
Minister,  seems to understand President Muhammadu Buhari’ mindset as far as fighting graft is concerned and is effectively broaching measures that have warmed the President’s heart. One of the measures already yielding positive results is the Whistle-blowing policy, which gives a percentage of recovered looted public fund to the whistleblower, an unprecedented policy that excites Nigerians at home and abroad, and opens a new chapter in financial crimes onslaught in the country. She appears to have fine-tuned the policy ahead of its formal presentation to the Federal Executive Council, FEC, presided by President Buhari on December 22, 2016. In the hallowed chamber of the Presidential Villa, Adeosun, standing there with her reading glasses adjusted to the centre, lifted her voices slightly higher than norman and quipped,  “The whistle-blowing policy is a programme designed to encourage anyone with information about a violation, misconduct or improper activity that ...
