The Portuguese netted his 367th league goal making him the all-time highest goal scorer in Europe’s top six leagues. The former record holder was Tottenham legend Jimmy Greaves who had 366 league goals in 566 appearances. He also played for Chelsea, AC Milan and West Ham United. Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth saw the Black Cats drop to the Championship, having won just five of the 34 games they have played Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League following a 1-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth on Saturday. Joshua King netted a late winner to send the Wearsiders down and end their 10-year stint in the top flight. Neither side had been able to find the breakthrough at the Stadium of Light, with Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc making a string of fine saves and Jermain Defoe wasting several presentable opportunities for David Moyes' men. Hull's 0-0 draw at Southampton looked to have prolonged Sunderland's stay - for another week at least - but King finished off a clinical Bournemouth break to send the hosts down to the Championship. Sunderland have won just five games all season and, unlike in recent seasons when miraculous fightbacks late in the campaign saved the club from the drop, this time they were left with too mu...

Nemanja Matic's stunning strike put the seal on Chelsea's 4-2 FA Cup semi-final win over Premier League title rivals Tottenham as Antonio Conte's side kept their double dream alive. It was a ruthlessly efficient display of finishing from the Blues at Wembley, which has been the scene of nothing but misery for Spurs this season, having faltered under the arch in their failed Champions and Europa League campaigns. Conte – whose name adorned a banner trailing a light aircraft flown over the stadium – sprung a surprise when he left Eden Hazard and Diego Costa on the bench, but Willian made the most of his inclusion with a fourth-minute free-kick and a penalty on the stroke of half-time. Spurs had twice fought back with Harry Kane's stooping flicked header from Christian Eriksen's pinpoint delivery, the Dane then teeing up Dele Alli to make it 2-2 in the 52nd minute. It was Mauricio Pochettino's side who were forcing the issue and looking the more likely to win ...

But, while the Portuguese star and Ballon d’Or holder may be at the pinnacle of the game right now, it seems even he can be stunned by the exploits of some. Days after his heroics in the Santiago Bernabeu, the 32-year-old showed that the talent runs in the family when he posted a video on Instagram of his son scoring a free kick. After winning a free-kick, Cristiano Jr copied his father’s stance and style and sent it sailing into the net. An excellent shot, the 32-year-old was well impressed by what he say, posting: “So proud of my little man. What a goal.” Download video HERE
