Football: Liverpool's Klopp Falls Sick

Klopp visits hospital and misses Liverpool training after falling ill


Jurgen Klopp missed Liverpool's training session on Wednesday after visiting hospital having fallen ill.

The Reds boss is reported to have made the club's doctors aware of feeling unwell overnight and consequently visited a medical facility on Merseyside.

Liverpool added that Klopp is not due to remain in hospital, but further checks on his condition may be required.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Jurgen Klopp has attended a hospital appointment today [Wednesday] as a precautionary measure, after feeling ill.

"There are currently no plans for Jurgen to remain in hospital beyond his appointment and he will therefore return home this evening; however, he may require further check-ups in the coming days."

Liverpool return to Premier League action following the international break against Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.

Yaya Toure To Donate £100,000 To Manchester Attack Victims

Premier League star Yaya Toure and his agent Dimitri Seluk have agreed to donate £50,000 each to those affected by the suicide bomb attack at Manchester Arena on Monday night. Twenty-two people lost their lives and a further 119 were injured in the atrocious attack with eight-year-old Saffie Roussos, 18-year-old Georgina Callander and 26-year-old John Atkinson among those killed. A further 59 were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the bomber – named on Tuesday as 22-year-old Salman Abedi – entered the foyer and activated an improvised explosive device. Touched by the harrowing details of young Saffie’s death, Seluk says he and the Manchester City player quickly agreed to donate the hefty sum in order to help families of the victims.

Robinho Sentenced To 9 Years In Prison

Brazil Star Robinho Sentenced to 9 Yrs in Prison A court in Milan has sentenced Brazil international Robinho to nine years in prison for a group sexual assault, according to Italian state news agency ANSA. The former AC Milan and Manchester City forward has been convicted of being one of six people involved in the assault of a 22-year-old woman at a Milanese nightclub on January 22, 2013. Robinho played for Milan between 2010 and 2015. He is currently with Atletico Mineiro and made his last appearance for the national team against Colombia in January. As Robinho is a Brazilian national currently residing in his home country, however, he is highly unlikely to face jail time for his offences. According to local legislation no Brazilian citizen can be extradited to another country under request to face criminal charges, although that will not apply should he leave his home nation and is detained elsewhere.
